CONNECT your team and
Return to play. Anywhere.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, we know many school activites, practices, and tournaments are canceled or postponed. In the meantime, HomeCourt can help your players and students stay active at home, have fun, and compete with each other remotely.

How to SET UP A VIRTUAL TEAM or CLASS ROSTER on homecourt.

Here are some simple steps to set up a virtual group on HomeCourt and assign activities to your players and students so they can stay in the game.

Step 1

Sign up for a HomeCourt account.

Feel free to skip this section if you already have a HomeCourt account. To create a new account for the first time, please follow the following steps to sign up.

2. Launch HomeCourt. If you have previously signed up for an account, tap “Sign In”.  If not, tap “Let’s Go”, and proceed through the introduction screens by tapping “Next” or “Skip”.

3. It is recommended that you add your profile picture on the “Put a face to a name” screen so that other players can instantly identify you.

STEP 2

Create a virtual Team.

Create a Team so that all your players are connected. If you are a school this could also be a virtual classroom of students. Customize your teams name and branding.

1. Tap Profile » Teams » +Create.

2. If you see the “HomeCourt is built for Teams screen” tap "Next" to continue.

3. Enter the name of your team, your team's location, add a photo, and tap “Save”.

Send out Team invite links.

Distribute your team link to users. You can email, text, or post your team link to your website, blog, or other team communication channels.

Use our parent email template ⟩

1. On the team, tap “Invite”. You can then invite members by searching the HomeCourt community, via your contacts, or by connecting to your Facebook friends.

2. You can also share the invite link to your team by using the iOS share functionality.  You may also tap “Copy” to copy the invite link url, and paste it into your email, social media group, messaging app, website or other channel.  The invite link will look like the following (each team’s invite link will look different) https://stxu6.app.goo.gl/abcd

3. If the person you invite is already a HomeCourt user, when they visit the invite link on iOS, it will launch HomeCourt and join your team.  If the person you invite doesn’t have HomeCourt installed yet, the invite link will lead them to download HomeCourt and join your team upon signing up.  See Step 1 above for instructions on how to sign up for HomeCourt.

  • If you’re inviting parents, they can create the primary account first and then setup additional profiles for family members later.

  • If the person you invite can download HomeCourt but fails to join your team, please ask them to visit the invite link on iOS again after signing up to join your team.

STEP 4

Turn on notifications.

It’s important to turn on notifications in your HomeCourt app in order to receive instant notifications whenever anyone on your team has completed a HomeCourt activity and connected to the Internet.

1. Tap Settings » Permissions, and make sure that notifications is “On”.  If not, tap “Notifications” and follow the on-screen instruction to turn it on.

2. Make sure that “Push Notifications” is toggled on under your team’s profile. See also the [Create a Team] section above.

STEP 5

Use the Team feed to check progress.

You can check in on your team’s progress by viewing the Team Leaderboard. You can view their workouts and see how they’re progressing.

1. The Leaderboard is a real-time feed of your team’s activities and performance. Check out this Leaderboard frequently to keep track of how your team is doing. You can filter by total workout time, total dribbles, or total shot makes.

2. The Leaderboard is also available for your team members to see so they can engage in team-wide challenges. Your team page also includes Popular Activities within your team community, based on the activities that your members are currently engaging in.

STEP 6

Plan activities.

Once your team is set up on HomeCourt, you can start to plan a schedule of activities for your team to complete remotely. Start with a few easier drills then progress users to more advanced drills over time.
